LADY PRIMROSE'S

TO SHOWCASE THE PORTRAITS, PAINTINGS OF K.POLK
Artist celebrates 25 years as a master artist and teacher

DALLAS (OCTOBER 2004) -- Kay Polk, a nationally recognized master artist who specializes in oil and pastel portraiture, will entertain guests "Over the Teacups" at the Thatched Cottage Pantry at Lady Primrose's on Tuesday, November 9 at 2:30 PM.

A special exhibit of Polk's work will be on display at Lady Primrose's at the Crescent, featuring not only examples of her special images of family portraiture, but also a group of still lifes, landscapes and a new presentation of work in charcoal, conté and special drawing media.

During the period of the exhibition, November 9 through December 9, Polk will accept a limited number of commissions for a smaller version of her traditional larger portrait works -- an opportunity specially designed for families and grandparents.

"Lady Primrose's looks forward to featuring Kay's exquisite artistry", said Co-Owner Caroline Rose Hunt. "She is noted for her use of extravagant color, luxurious surfaces and sensitive lines to express the beauty and spirit of the human form and other motifs. No matter what the media, light is always evident in her work."

Among her many honors are being chosen a top finalist out of 11,000 entries in the 1994 Artist's Magazine National All Media Competition and at the 1998 American Society of Portrait Artists Conference being named a top ten finalist, again from thousands of entries.

Her portraits may be found not only in many collections nationwide but also in England and Austria.
